Our story

A boutique winery built on family values

De Moya is a boutique winery in Spain, founded by Yves and Sofie Laurijssens. What connects them is a shared passion for food, family, and fun. And the belief that wine is, first and foremost, about enjoying it together.

In love with Bobal

Their story begins in Belgium, where the Laurijssens family is known for its expertise in successful turnarounds: making projects with potential flourish again through vision, perseverance, and hard work. Yves and Sofie took that same mentality with them to Spain, in search of vineyards where quality takes precedence over volume. With three clear criteria in hand (a full-bodied red wine, different from the mainstream, and affordable luxury), Yves traveled through Spain for nine months in search of the right place. Until he fell in love with Valencia, its rugged mountains, and the potential of Bobal.

In 2012, Yves and Sofie moved to Spain with their family to pursue a dream. In the Mediterranean region of Levante, they bought old vineyards from retired farmers and completely build the winery from scratch. Step by step, harvest after harvest.

Wines to celebrate life

De Moya is built on family values, hard work, and respect for tradition. At the same time, Yves and Sofie are known for their out-of-the-box thinking. Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, they are constantly looking for unconventional yet simple solutions that enhance the character of the wine.

With an eye on the future and room for a new generation, the winery continues to grow.

Making wines to celebrate life—that is what De Moya stands for.

Team behind De Moya

Yves: Does the work no one wants to do and, in the meantime, finds time to charm customers.

Sofie: The administrative Wizard of Oz, makes paperwork disappear and invoices appear.

Marie: Young captain of daily operations, keeps things running and raises standards.

Vicente Ramos (winemaker): Chief juice whisperer, transforms grapes into something you suddenly can't stop talking about.

Jose Enrique: The Swiss Army knife. He repairs, builds, solves… and then does it all over again.

Hassan: The engine of the vineyard. He runs on sunshine, perseverance, and impossible energy.

Hamza: The same as Hassan, but with an extra gear.

Bobal (the dog): Head of Morale. Does nothing. But indispensable.

Justine: Official quality control, smells nonsense and approves the good stuff.

Thibaut: Junior tasting panel, specialized in checking ‘just one more sip’.
